Humans are fascinated by the foreign, the exotic, the wild creature. We are magically attracted to the animal and the unknown. The interest in extraordinary or dangerous animals is often accompanied by the desire to classify, collect, study, and own them. Artists approach the nature of animals through numerous sketches, which are verified, if possible, by using the living object. However, in addition to the analysis of external features, such as the color of fur or plumage, the observation of sequences of movements and individual behavior has always been of great importance in order to capture the respective character of the animal and to realize it artistically. Artists are becoming researchers.
